Normal colours have been black on white. If there were other colours in use is not known. It's also not known if there
were special trade plates issued within this series. I do not know the number code of this series (if somebody has any
further information it would be very apprechiated when you e-mail it). The five states in East-Germany had the following codes:
BP = Brandenburg Provinz / Province of Brandenburg MF = Mecklenburg Freistaat / Free State of Mecklenburg SF = Sachsen Freistaat / Free State of Saxony SP = Sachsen Provinz / Province of Saxony
TF = Thüringen Freistaat / Free State of Thuringia
and a extra code for the east sectors of Berlin
GB = Groß Berlin / Greater Berlin (from 1948)
Before 1948 in Berlin (East and West) there were plates in use with cyrillic letters.
The codes were БГ (=BG), ГФ (=GF), БM (=BM) und ГM (=GM).
